If you are looking for respite and relaxation from your 9 to 5 desk job or boring college lectures then plan your next weekend getaway to Gokarna (a pocket-friendly getaway). Gokarna is an ideal weekend getaway from Bangalore or a weekend getaway from Hyderabad, especially if you love pristine beaches, water sports or have an interest in Hindu mythology.
Gokarna is an overnight travel from Bangalore or Hyderabad which makes it a perfect weekend getaway to a beach destination. It is far from all the hubbub of city. It has one of the most amazing beaches in India besides Goa. There are many shacks near the beaches in Gokarna, so rest assured you will have an amazing view of sunrise and sunset.

You can reach Gokarna via an AC Sleeper Volvo from Hyderabad or Bangalore and then you should most definitely rent a bike which shouldn’t cost you anymore than Rs 300-Rs 400 for a day. Now, all you have to do is let yourself immerse in Gokarna adventure.
Gokarna offers you a vast ocean line. The renowned beach trinity, the Kudle beach, the Half-Moon beach and the Paradise beach is the crowning jewel of Gokarna attractions. This trio of beaches brings hippies and beach-lovers from all over the world to this serene town. There is a pretty easy trek between these beaches. This Gokarna beach trek allows you to take in the beauty that isn`t available in the chaos of a city-life.

Once you are on these beaches, you should also enjoy some water sports there such as jet skiing, banana boat rides and bumper ride. All of these Gokarna adventure activities would cost you around Rs 1500. You can also enjoy scuba diving, snorkelling, parasailing, boat rides and beach side camping in Gokarna.

Once you are done with all this fun-activities you should also visit the Mahabaleshwar temple that is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is one of the most famous temples in the town. However, there are many more temples in this holy town.
Don`t wait for a long vacation and  plan your next weekend getaway to Gokarna and fall in love with this town`s exuberant natural beauty.

Gandikota- The Hidden Grand Canyon of India.

Gandi means gorge in Telegu and Kota means fort. The fort is famous for its peculiar landscape formed by the Pennar river cutting through the Erramala Hills forming a giant gorge.

The place has well-connected roads and is easily accessible by cars.
From a far-flung, it seemed as if the entire road was obstructed by a colossal gate, something that reminds us about history. That is.. Gandikota Fort, established on the time of powerful Pemmasani Dynasty.

The next attractions of Gandikota are camping, trekking and kayaking.

Camping  is such a bliss here. It is really a lifetime majestic experience. The sunset in the middle of the gorge is a wonder to watch. At night you can enjoy the campfire under the stars.

The next morning you can trek to enjoy the mystical charm sunrise from the canyon. After that, you can head out to the Penna river, play in the water or indulge in Kayaking.

Few journeys in life leave you spellbound and make you feel grateful for witnessing natural wonders at close quarters. For me, it was one such experience.
